Pretty things about college writing

I sailed through high school. As long as I paid attention in class, did the homework as quickly as possible, and put in a couple of hours of study for tests in the AP classes, I was good to go! My parents, both in possession of graduate degrees, told me that I was in for a rude awakening when I got to college, and they were right!
